We know the physical side of organ donation but have you ever thought about the other parts of organ donations? For me it’s a donated heart, for others it could be a donated lung, liver, kidney, skin, etc.
Organ Donation is someone else’s love continuing in a different body. It is proof that even in loss, life can still multiply.
It is the reason my beat will go on.
Organ donation is….
It’s oxygen
It’s more Sunday morning breakfasts
It’s more football games under Friday night lights and inside College Stadiums
It’s more softball tournaments in the Arizona heat and maybe other states
It’s more theater performances and curtain calls
It’s more E-Sports matches
It’s more Flag Football Games
It’s more car rides with music too loud
It’s more “Mom” texts
It’s more ordinary Tuesdays that don’t feel ordinary anymore
It’s more laughter throughout the house
It’s more hugs
It’s more prayers answered in ways you never expected
It’s more time.
Organ Donation Is…
More sunsets
More holidays
More first days of school
More senior nights
More college move-ins
Grandbabies
More anniversaries
More quiet and let’s be real- not so quite evenings
More “remember when…” stories
Organ Donation Is…
One more season
One more championship run
One more uniform washed
One more ride home talking or not talking about the game
One more chance to say, “I’m proud of you.”
Organ Donation Is…
Hope in the middle of heartbreak
Light in someone else’s darkest hour
A family saying yes to life when theirs has just changed forever
A gift that extends beyond a hospital room
A legacy of generosity and love
A sacred exchange between grief and gratitude
Organ Donation Is…
Not just survival, it’s living life
It’s not just a heartbeat, it’s the moments that heartbeat allows
It’s not just a surgery, it’s a second chance at everything that matters
Organ Donation Is…
Breathing easier
Walking farther
Laughing louder
Hugging tighter
Trusting deeper
Living intentionally
It is the reason my beat will go on.
