Some Fridays look like deep breaths and slow mornings. Then there are some Fridays that look like…
Mayo labs
Work emails
Schedule shuffling
School drop-offs
Mom mode (always activated)
Today was one of those “normal” days — and if you’re in a medical journey like mine, you know normal doesn’t mean light. It means steady. It means making it happen. It means showing up!
A morning trip to Mayo Clinic for labs (because that’s just part of my weekly routine now), followed work, sending out emails, answering calls, and just doing what needs to be done.
Somewhere in there?
Snacks have been packed.
Schedules have confirmed, rearranged, and confirmed again.
Weekend bags mentally prepared.
Weekend bags? What is this weekend???
It’s game time!!!!
Saturday we’re rallying for D’s flag football game — sun, cleats, sidelines, flags and cheering.
Sunday we have an all day softball tournament! Sunday looks like sun, dirt, eye black, camping chairs, coolers full of water and snacks, and the kind of exhaustion that only comes from doing what you love, for the people you love.
This is my balance!
Hospital bracelets and bleachers/camping chairs.
Lab results and lineup cards.
IV tape and eye black.
And honestly? I’m grateful for all of it.
Even with the appointments… Even with the routine labs… Even with the long drives and rearranged calendars- The Beat Goes On️!
