There are some decisions that outlive us.
Organ donation is one of them.
Before this season of waiting for a heart transplant, I knew organ donation was important. I checked the box on my driver’s license. I believed it was a good thing. I supported it….
But I didn’t fully understand it.
Now I do.
Right now, thousands of people are waiting for life-saving transplants. Not improvements, Not enhancements, but Survival.
Organ Donation Reality
One organ donor can save up to 8 lives.
Not just improve. Save.
Hearts
Lungs
Kidneys
Liver
Pancreas
And beyond those, tissue donation can help dozens more
There are far more people waiting for transplant than there are available organs.
Why This Is Personal
Every transplant story begins with a family experiencing unimaginable grief — and choosing generosity anyway. That choice is extraordinary. Somewhere, one day, there may be a family who makes the decision that allows my story to continue.
That thought humbles me. It carries gratitude and grief at the same time. Because my miracle will come through someone else’s loss. That reality is sacred.
Organ donation isn’t just a medical decision. It is an act of love that ripples through generations.
